Serving traditional Memphis-style dry-rub BBQ in the world's most populous Muslim nation hasn't stopped owners and the founder of Smoking Joe's from developing a cult following with both ex-pat and locals alike. In eight short weeks the restaurant 7 lounge has quickly become a culinary destination in Jakarta. They pride themselves on slow-smoked meats in their one-ton smoker imported directly from Missouri. All meat is smoked using wood from the Jack Fruit tree which offers a distinguished taste and an amazing aroma. What's good on the menu? The Beef Brisket, Pulled Pork and BBQ Pork ribs are all winners. Save room for dessert and try the Toll House chocolate chip cookie that's big enough for a car full. Also the home made apple pie is worth digging into and is served with vanilla ice cream. Portions are hearty and it's best to bring your appetite. Wait staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Smoking Joe's is a meat lover's paradise, but also have delicious menu items for everyone.
