BLOW ME!
Have you heard? What vuvuzela? I am sure you have, because even the cave dwellers in Afghanistan are aware of the dreadful buzz this souvenir makes. (We refrain from calling it an instrument, because its not). Its popularity has received mixed reviews during the FIFA World Cup and was threatened to be banned, even iPad has devoted an app in its honor.
This carnivale-esque device has no place in the professional sporting world. In case you didn't know, World Cup Football is the most watched sporting event on the planet and the sport continues to be the most played pastime on earth. (I have even witness penguins kicking a soccer ball at the zoo). If you compare ALL professional sporting events in the USA, there are no noise makers permitted inside the stadiums or arenas. What happened to shouting to support your team till you loose your voice? Instead fans toot this tube that resembles a beer funnel you might find at a university frat party. The sound the vuvuzela makes could be classified as a cross between a mating cow and a dying elephant. Wear your earplugs and blow me vuvuzela!
