| A mighty clever beer ad by URSUS Breweries from our friends in Romania. Touted as the 'King of Beers in Romania,' we're quite sure its better than Budweiser. The only thing missing are the nuts. |

1977 WAS A GREAT YEAR
![]() |
| Alex Varanese came up with a brilliant concept of taking several modern electronics of today, such as the mobile phone or laptop and put a retro twist on them. Our personal fave is the pocket Hi-Fi, totally bad ass! Imagine 20-years from now, the cutting edge technology of today will be obsolete. Hope you enjoyed this brief walk back in time. |

LEGALIZE IT ALREADY
Why does everyone in this commercial look stoned? And whats with the images of George Washington and Abe Lincoln in the background? Oh yeah, that's right, back in the day they rolled a bad ass joint. Overall, a pretty uneventful TV ad, but proves progress is underway. Lets hope they get creative and have a prime-time spot during the 2011 Super Bowl.

The iPhone 4G Transparent is still only a concept, but it may be a matter of time until it becomes a reality. This technology does exist, because it has been featured at an electronics conventions in Las Vegas. Who doesn't love bad ass gadgets?

A PEEL OF A DIFFERENT COLOR
One of the sweetest varieties of the citrus family, the blood orange derives its name from the extraordinary crimson, blood-colored flesh. The distinctive red color is due to the presence of anthocynin, a pigment common to many flowers and fruits, but uncommon in citrus fruits. Blood oranges are thought to originate from Sicily. They are a hybrid of ancient cultivated origin with historical records mentioning their presence as early as the 17th century. With their stunning color and delightful flavor, blood oranges are used in many ways. In Italy, they are traditionally consumed in salads, starter dishes and are vital ingredients of popular desserts. Gaining popularity with gourmet chefs and foodies, they are also used to make sauces and soups, but be sure not to get the juice on your white button-down, because stains will result.
TURN BACK THE CLOCK
We are passionate about the arts and certainly appreciate the keen eye of a talented photog. The black and white photographs of Horace Bristol Indonesia 1939 were on display at the Four Seasons Hotel lobby in Jakarta from July 16-30th. The exhibit's focus was on Bristol's work as one of the original LIFE magazine photogs, as well as the publications first international story being published in 1940. Bristol went to Indonesia in the late 30s to capture life in the Dutch East Indies and his story was published as a 14-page feature. If you missed the exhibition in Java, you can catch the exhibit as it moves to Bali starting on Friday, August 6th, with the opening reception beginning about sunset. The exhibit will be on display until October 4th at JENGGALA KERAMIK BALI. This is worth checking out, after all, a picture speaks 1,000 words.
